Creating and Deploying our 1st Image

Hello,

I have just set up our K2000 and have made it to the fun part… I am  looking for  a checklist for deploying a Windows 7 image.  I have created one test image from a 32bit win7 machine and have a test machine ready to go. Can someone post a checklist for deployment?  I am looking for help on what pre/post installation task are necessary.

While I am on the topic how about a checklist for creating an image as well? The image I have was part of a training session with Dell and I will need to make a new one. Perhaps there is a checklist I can use for creating a new image as well?

Thanks for the comments!

The tasks depends on how far you want the image to go after post sysprep.  You will need to figure your post needs, Like install the k1000 cleint as an example.

they have many sessions on the kke about this http://www.kace.com/support/training/jumpstart

I also have a few blogs about windows 7 imaging.  Her is one that is about a year old, but will give you an idea.

Hello,

On the top of the checklist I'd sugget to read the manual of the appliance.

The online guide is very well written and explains very well what you need to do.

I'd suggest you to have a lool here as well: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/KACE-Kontinuing-Education-K1000-and-K2000-Recordings

Look in the page for K2000 and you will find some links to past KKE session about how to use imaging and scripted installation with/for Windows 7 (normally they are video of 1h).

Kind regards,
