Cron settings for patch schedule

Hi folks.

I have read some of the other threads regarding scheduling patches and I wanted to ask something about the custom schedule using the cron table. I would rather avoid getting into writing custom statements to achieve a simple schedule for patching which, for example, could run once per week. Here is my custom cron entry:

0 22 ? * 6

Which I understand as 10:00 PM on Saturday night.

Would that be correct?

Thanks in advance for any clarification provided.

If you're looking to run every Saturday at 10:00pm, then why not use the third option that allows you to choose Run Every [Saturday] at [22]:[00] (things in brackets indicate drop down menu choices)?

I think that the cron option is given for people that are looking for a much more customized schedule, like running only on the third sunday of the month.

Hmm.

I only wanted to know if my interpretation was correct. Of course, I saw the other options for scheduling but I think it best to know a couple of different ways to achieve the same result. So, is my understanding right or... ?

You can probably find a cron validator on line. I would write it as
0 22 * * Sat

Hello. This question, like most k1000 geared questions on this site are very old, but I was hoping to re-address this. steelc mentioned:
"I think that the cron option is given for people that are looking for a much more customized schedule, like running only on the third sunday of the month."

From what I've read and heard from support, this is not possible in Kace's basic cron supportability. I would like to run patch jobs on the 2nd Wednesday or Thursday of every month, so only once per month on that exact day. This is a day or two after MS Patch Tuesday. Does anybody know if this is possible and have the exact syntax to use? Thanks all.
