Do I need to create a new KBE in order to image PC's from a Remote Site Appliance? Or will the KBE I have work?

I have the process down for imaging at our main location.

However, we have set up a Remote Site Appliance and we will be attempting to image PC's at the remote site next week.

The RSA has a different IP address than the SDA.

Will the KBE USB keys I have already created and work for our main SDA also work in the RSA? Or do I need to create a new KBE for the Remote Site with the RSA IP address?

Hi,

1- You cannot upload KBEs to an RSA, RSAs will only get synced KBEs from the main SDA.
2- By default, KBEs will query your DHCP scope options to locate the Imaging Solution via IP, make sure it's the IP of the RSA on that location, not the IP of the SDA.
3- If you have no DHCP involved, I'm afraid they will attempt to connect to the SDA, because they have the SDA IP as a fallback.

If you don't have a DHCP to handle this, then you will need to build a static IP KBE, that is a custom KBE designed to talk to the RSA IP address only.
You will still need to upload the KBE into the SDA and sync it to your desired RSA.

(use Media Manager from version 7.0 to accomplish this, if you're in 6.1, you will need Media Manager and KBE Manipulator to do this.)
