Documentation on how "during following" criteria works in "Advanced Search"?
Hi,
I haven't been able to find documentation on how to use the "during following" operator options in the Advanced Search feature.
Go to Support Desk, Tickets, click "Advanced Search", pick the "Created Date" field, then the next field to the right has options at the bottom of the list "during following weeks", "during following months", etc. Once selected, the next field to the right is a blank text box. What should I put in that box? A date? A month name?

That answer sounds like something a politician would say. Not very helpful. This program is very unfriendly in terms of being able to search EASILY. What i want to do is look at all tickets created within a specific queue within a specific month. There's options to select dates but they don't seem to do much. The best I've been able to do is 'during previous quarters' and go from there. - xanthrax 8 years ago

Looking at your question, there may be some confusion here. When you select a date based field to search, query or add to a report, you have made a available a number of "Extended Date Operators" which basically allow you to program some quite complex SQL by using a single statement such as "During Previous" or "During Following".
Logically you need to think about what you are asking the query to do.
To answer the question straight you need to put a number for example 3, so in plain English, your statement will be saying:
"Show me all the calls with a created date that is within the next 3 Months"
For the purpose of a query or report, as you never log tickets with a future created date, the query will probably return no results.
However the extended date operators come into their own if you need to create weekly or monthly reports as you can use the "Within Last..." operators to create period based reports
