Driver Feed

How often does the Dell driver feed get updated with new drivers? For example, the display drivers that are part of the driver feed are 2 versions older than the drivers that are available if you go to the dell website and manually download the individual drivers. Driver in driver feed is 13.251.0 while the version from Dell's website is 15.200

  • Good point Chuck, in which case the answer would be whenever Lumension release them right? - Hobbsy 8 years ago
  • Hobbsy, Thanks. I have the driver feed set up. I am wondering when Dell actually updates the drivers that are part of the feed packages. It seems that the ones that come as part of the feed are out of date. - cisiever 8 years ago
  • So, if I want my imaged pc's to have newer drivers I will have to manually add them to the drivers_postinstall folder? - cisiever 8 years ago
  • Anyone, ever figure this question out? I'm in this situation myself. My boss wants me to update the drivers for a dozen or so models. Can I simply uninstall the drivers, then start a download and install? Or will I have to download the CAB files for each model and move them over to get the latest drivers. - cdittfurth 7 years ago

The Driver Feed is set to update every night and the only options you have are Driver Feed on or Driver Feed off.

To see the details of the download, in your K2000 console go to Library>Overview then under the Driver Feed Heading click the "Manage Driver Feed Settings" Link.

On the screen displayed you will be able to see if your Driver Feed is set up, when it last scanned and completed and the status of the last update

  • I think his question is how often does Dell update the drivers at the source. - chucksteel 8 years ago

The driver feed is updated regulary and will be downloaded to your appliance during the nightly maintenance.
Check this page for the driver feeds KACE is using:
http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/2065.dell-driver-cab-files-for-enterprise-client-os-deployment.aspx

If the drivers in the feed are older than in this list, open a ticket with KACE support.
