Enable local admin account on sysprep Win7 image

Hi all,

Apologies if this seems a very basic question, but I'm relatively new to using Kace systems deployment appliance & I can't seem to find an answer.

Scenario:

We have been provided with a sysprep Win 7 image by our customer which we need to log into as local admin (at customer’s request) once the image has been deployed.  However their sysprep answer file doesn’t enable the local admin account & doesn’t create any local users. So when the image boots into Windows we get the Window to change the PC name & change date/time, the PC reboots then we get the logon screen, but can’t log on.  This procedure was agreed by senior management & apparently we managed this OK with a previous supplied image, but my previous colleague left no notes & that image is no longer on Kace

Simple question is… How do I enable the local admin account? I’ve used a simple BAT script to attempt to enable the admin account

net user administrator /active:yes

I’ve tried to run this script either at a Mid-level task, or a post-install task. The tasks run in Kace without any errors, but they don't activate the admin account

Any help would be much appreciated!

I believe the K2 needs a local user to be defined and created via Answer file, to then execute any post install scripts using THAT account.

I would say re-sysprep your Image with KACE Sysprep Creator Tool.
