Error 2709 with all AppDeploy MSI files

I've been working with the K1000 and the K2000 for about two months and I've recently been focusing on the K1000.

Since I'm at a school, we have plenty of poorly coded or outdated software that doesn't come as an .MSI package or have any other way for mass deployment, so I've resorted to AppDeploy to deploy these programs. However, every time I make a package using AppDeploy 1.2, the resulting .MSI always errors with 2709.

I have Orca installed and tried running the validation tool but the results don't make any sense to me as there are about 30 of them. Do I need to manually fix these each time?

What am I doing wrong? I'm coming from Altiris 6.9 where RIP creation was simple and effective. I'm using Windows 7 SP1 32bit for creation of these files.

Have you checked to see if there are silent install options for the programs that you are trying to install?

Another option that I have used from time to time is using AutoIT scripting to script the install screens for various software installs that don't have a silent install option.

If you are specifically looking for AppDeploy Repackager help, there is a specific appdeploy forum topic for the repackager that may know more about the error you are receiving.

Oops, my mistake. I didn't see the dedicated AppDeploy forum sub-section.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
