error when deploying image from SDA

Hello,

I'm newer to working with Kace, and today when attempting to deploy an image using the Kace SDA I got the error in the screenshot. Anyone know what's up?  I tried searching a bit, but no luck.

  • I'm not seeing the screenshot, can you repost it? - JasonEgg 5 years ago
    • Reposted, but I couldn't find a way to reorient it on mobile! - Cheecho 5 years ago
  • Is that SDA version 6.1 ?

Make sure the option 66 of your DHCP is the KACE IP and not the hostname\fqdn.

Attempt to build a new KBE, that one might be corrupted. - Channeler 5 years ago
    • SDA 5.0.222

I recently changed the boot manager password. This was the first deployment I did after that, and I'm wondering if that may have caused a hiccup. I let it sit for about 40 minutes and everything seems fine now. - Cheecho 5 years ago
      • 5.0.222 is no longer maintained\supported by Quest:

Update to at least 5.1, check the Option 66 of your DHCP, and proceed to build a new KBE:

It is the password change that is causing this.  If you move the screen you moved the screen you will see some access denied messages.

When you change the PW, you need to make sure all installs are complete.  For good measure I usually reboot the appliance.

  • Awesome, I had a feeling it was the change. On average, how long does it take to reboot the appliance?

I kind of got thrown in to this role due to some unfortunate circumstance, so there arent many people I can reach out to for advice. - Cheecho 5 years ago
    • About 2 min to reboot. If you have RSA units you wave to wait for them to Sync before you run a deployment at the remote site. - JordanNolan 5 years ago
      • Thank you so much for the informative replies. I sweating a bit when the error first came up, but you helped put me at ease.

Now I just have to try to get all my old appliances up to date! Luckily it seems decently straight forward with Kace. - Cheecho 5 years ago
