Flash Player patching

I have a smartlabel for Flash patches that is:

select UID from KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PATCH where ((  KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PATCH.TITLE like '%flash player%') AND (1  in (select 1 from PATCHLINK_PATCH_STATUS where PATCHLINK_PATCH.UID = PATCHLINK_PATCH_STATUS.PATCHUID and PATCHLINK_PATCH_STATUS.STATUS = '0')) )

I am perplexed why Flash Player 11.8.800xx is not found with that label. I believe that a KACE tech helped to create that labels. If I remove the status=0 it does include it. What does the Status=0 (Active) really mean? I don't find it mentioned in the patch description.

  • We are having the very same issue, and one of the techs at KACE originally helped us with our patch labels setup. We have been getting every Flash plugin and ActiveX control updated automatically, until 11.8.x. It updated on all 400+ computers successfully, and now that 11.9.x is available from Adobe, K1000 never downloads and updates. We are guessing that the patch subscription smart label is dysfunctional, but I cannot prove it yet. I am going to have to submit a ticket to KACE for it...unless you figured it out.

  • I got this to work, but I don't understand why it was such a problem. Here is what I have in the smart label:

    Title contains flash player
    Operating system = Windows
    Impact=Critical
    Superceeded=0

    I also did a Download Now in the Patch settings.
