Functionality request for MI’s

  • The functionality I’m looking for would be a ‘deploy’ or ‘redeploy’ button beside each client in the ‘Managed Software Installation : Edit Detail’ screen that failed to install app X. Sometimes MI’s fail to install on clients for a number of reasons. Currently, after finding a fix for the failure, one has to make a change on the ‘Managed Software Installation : Edit Detail’ screen to reattempt the install. In doing this it resets for all failed clients.
  • What happens if I only want a few to redeploy? Well, making the change on the ‘Managed Software Installation : Edit Detail’ screen resets all failed clients, thus allowing KBOX to install the app which will fail.
  • As stated before – adding a ‘deploy’ or ‘redeploy’ button beside each client that contains a “Not Installed (2 of 2 attempts)” would be very productive.

For the time being, you can simply increase the attempt count and force a client to check-in. This will re-attempt deployment.

I'd suggest you put in an enhancement request ticket to KACE support if you'd like to see a single-machine re-deployment button. The more people that put in a ticket for this enhancement, the sooner it will be added.

Thanks for the response and that is what we do - the problem is when you make 'any' change to the MI, that change resets all failed clients. We want to pick and choose which clients needs to retry the update/MI.
