Has anyone created a Task Chain that runs a script, then runs patches, then runs a report to show the patching results?
I have a script that take Snapshots of servers, prior to patching.
I also have Patch Schedules that work as expected running at various times during the month.
I now have reports to show the results of those Patches.
I need to create a Task Chain that will run the Snapshot script, then run the Patch Schedule, then run the Report on a schedule.
Looking for suggestions on how to do this or advice on another way to accomplish the same goal in another way. I am running KACE SMA 10.2.234.
Thank you in advance.

I know this is 1 yr old but anyone have a script to do snapshots (hyper-v)? And how about one to delete them? The person who posted this left me wondering what he/she is doing about all these snapshots accumulating. I think this is a great idea.. wish I had thought of it. Of course, this wont help me with hosts.. May the force be with me on those I guess.. Im about to deploy the remainder of dell driver/firmware/bios patches to some hosts.. so far so good.. but of course I saved the most critical for last.

In addition to a script that generates the snapshots from Nutanix, we also have a script that deletes all snapshot taken from the create script. - hlh10231 5 months ago
well, you cannot run a report as part of the task schedule.
So you can run the snapshot, the patch in a task chain and do a scheduled report unlinked to that. You may want to add the time of the last time the patching has been run and the result to the report.

Thanks.. finding task chains very limited. For example, cant do Dell patches. It is what it is. - barchetta 2 years ago
