Has anyone had an issue with a system image that is stuck on "Finalizing image" when trying to upload to the SDA?

I tried to upload a system image, it failed on the desktop, and the SDA is just saying "Finalizing image" now.  i don't see an option to stop the process and i don't want to reboot the SDA while it's trying to finalize the upload.

Hi, unfortunately there is not much that can be done at that point since the SDA doesn't have any option to stop a capturing process.

If rebooting is not an option, I would suggest creating a Case with support to see if they can kill the process.

In order to avoid similar problems in the future, please keep this document handy:

  • i rebooted the SDA and the "finalizing image" status changed to "interrupted because SDA rebooted". i deleted the instance afterwards.

it's seems that if the image capture fails the SDA still tries to finalize the upload. i wish they would include an option to kill the process when this happens. i did give it more than 24 hours to see if the status changed, but it didn't so i decided to reboot the SDA. i could have "deleted" it while it was in the finalizing image status, but the Quest best practices say not to delete an image while performing a capture. - josed558 2 years ago
  • just an update on this. I had another issue were the image was stuck on Optimizing Manifest after i tried uploading a new image. The Quest Rep had me go on he K2000 appliance > select the image > Choose Action > delete; delete seems to be the cancel option. I would still submit a request for support if this happens. - josed558 1 year ago

That is a good one, I'd post that idea in user voice

So maybe Kace Dev can add a 'cancel' button to avoid this kind of problems.
