History of tickets for an asset record

We have an issue where we have vehicle records in our asset database (about 1400). We would like to be able to see the vehicle history of tickets logged against a vehicle. This works fine until a ticket is archived then the link is lost. At the moment we cannot archive tickets for that Q  as that vehicle history is vital. Does anyone have a work around for this.

No it is the tickets that get archived then the connection to the asset record is lost (e.g. Vehicle 123 has 10 service desk tickets logged against it - until a couple are archived then the Vehicle 123 only shows 8). Might have to do it as a reporting function (i.e. where you can combine the archive and active ticket databases)

  • My guess is the database is only setup to link to the live data, not the archived data, which in your case could be an issue as a load of tickets relating to a vehicle may get archived and the vehicle then looks great as opposed to Not Great? I doubt very much that KACE would be interested in changing that as the whole purpose of the archive is to keep the active DB of tickets smaller and quicker to reference, adding in this type of data lookup will slow it down and defeat the object of archiving. From a reporting perspective, yes you could combine live and archive tables into a single report - Hobbsy 3 years ago

Does this happen for all asset types that are archived or just for your own custom asset types? i.e. so archived Devices maintain the links?
