How do I download patches that show a size of 0?

I am trying to deploy patches to some desktops, but they never deploy. I get the not patched 80 or 102 codes. But I have noticed that the patch shows a size of 0, so I am guessing that it is not installing because the of the size. How can I download the update? Can I download just that one update or do I need to do the global download again?

At one point, the patch was inactive. I activated the patch and expected Kace to download it again at the next patch download time, but it doesn't appear to have done that or I may have skipped a step. I am running KACE 6.3.113397 and I have organizations enabled.

Thank you,

Andrew

  • can you post a screen shot of your patching subscription? - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago

  • What time does your appliance run its backup? It's possible that it is still down running the backup when you have the patching schedule set to download patches, which will cause it to not download them. - chucksteel 9 years ago
  • It is schedule to download at 4 in the morning. I push out the patches later that morning. Like 9ish 10ish. I was able to remove the patches then have it download again. The SP1 for Windows 7 size was like 500Mb but this morning the size is back to 0 and in my test environment the machines needs SP1. - M&M 9 years ago

  • the backup runs at midnight daily - M&M 9 years ago
  • I haven't read anything so far about setting up a detection scan to see what you need to download. Have you done that? - nshah 9 years ago
  • i do a detect against a group of systems that are missing patches and run it against the patch labels (Dell created) but it never pushes the patches out. However most of the patches show a size of 0. So I guess it is why it isn't installing but it never downloads the patch either when I runs the patch update. I've had a case open for two weeks with Dell Kace and nothing. - M&M 9 years ago
