How to edit current office 2013 install to enable Lync on computers
I have to deploy Lync 2013 to all of the computers in my company. All of them already have office pro plus 2013 on them which has lync in the install and can be enabled on the computer by changing the office install under programs and features. I need a way to do this silently on all of the machines to enable lync.
Option 2 would be to build an installer of lync 2013 and push it out. I have tested this with mixed results. Some machines it installs fine but others show that it is installed but there are no files on the computer showing that it is installed (no start menu or program files) which is the reason I would like to just edit the install already on the computers.

I just tested this by running the msp manually and it didn't change the install at all. Weird thing is that when I went to programs and features, it showed lync as being installed. I hit continue without changing anything and the change applied and installed the software... This software is driving me nuts. - pbroussard 9 years ago

Sounds like you have the issue noted in this post.
Update your OCT and either recreate your MSP, or open it and resave it.
