Installing KBOX agent on mac as post install
I'm trying to get the KBOX agent to install on a mac that's pulling down a DMG image using the newer Native Imaging (much improved thank you KACE) but it never installs. I've tried using the post install task to create the installer and the KB article at http://www.kace.com/support/kb/index.php?action=artikel&cat=66&id=1124&artlang=en - however it never installs. When following the KB article here is the command line I'm using mkdir -p "/Library/Application Support/Dell/KACE/data" ; echo "host=kbox.tvusd.k12.ca.us" > "/Library/Application Support/Dell/KACE/data/amp.conf" ; sleep 15 ; /usr/sbin/installer -pkg "ampagent.pkg" -target /' . I don't get an error - and a script I'm using to rename them is working.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!
Dennis

ddevore,
What OS are you running in your Netboot environment? I am having the exact same problem as you and my Netboot environment is running OS X Lion, I am planning on trying OS X Snow Leopard tomorrow to see if it's an OS issue. I have a ticket open with support to solve this issue and will let you know what I find.

I think I have mine working as well it appeared to be an issue with the DMG I prepped a basic MAC DMG and then the agent was successfully installed using both a Snow Leopard and Lion Netboot. The only issue I had was my MAC image was 10.6.8 and the DELL_Kace install dmg was left on the desktop and I needed to add "; sleep 60 ; hdiutil eject /dev/disk1" to the end of my install string to remove the install DMG. I'm not sure if the issue is because I'm using 10.6 and not 10.7 I need to spin up a MAC with Lion to see if that makes any difference.
