K1000 6.4 release bug watch list
Hello,
I see 6.4 was officially released last week. I was trying to find a place on this site for a list of found bugs with 6.4 as I'm absolutely positive there will be some. I'm not going to upgrade for at least a month and hope that we can pool our experiences here and list any and all bugs that you've found. Because of so many posts and feedback I've read on this site and others regarding upgrade issues, my fear is that I'll upgrade to 6.4 and some things will break.
That being said some of these new features sound awesome and I'm looking forward to using them.
Thanks.

if you go to this link and look at the release notes there is a known issues section.

I have been testing 6.4 since June and the test group had reported many bugs that have already been resolved. - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago

Thanks SMal. Good to know the known bugs section is there. I'm looking for real world bugs like the ones you've mentioned in your second post here. I was hoping to keep this thread alive with ongoing bugs that people come across in real world usage. If there is an official thread for this type of thing for 6.4 please let me know.
Is there a list of the bugs the test groups found that have been bashed? - bens401 9 years ago-
not for public. when you become part of the beta test program you agree to keep that type of info internal and they set up a special ITNinja community that only the beta community and dell can access - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago

you can start a 6.4 bug blog that anyone can then add to, since the beta program is closed myself and others can add to that blog - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago

Some things I've noticed here in the first couple days, at least with our user visible components, that are not working the same in this version:
- User console login page logo is reverted back to the Dell KACE logo (no option to change) after upgrade.
- User console announcements and Helpful Links seem to be very hit and miss. Some users see them, others do not. Even my test accounts are about 50/50 for this.
Worked with support on this, apparently if your users are in a group where "license keys" are hidden, the link and announcements are invisible. Setting it to read only will bring back the features - Machine/Device actions in IE are broken for us, (actions only available in IE message, even when using IE)
- No simple way for users to get back to the "home" screen in the user console once they click on an section link (i.e. service desk/desktop/downloads) Worked with support on this, it's also apparently tied into the "license keys" visibility
