Kace 1000 - Settings - Logs (export) or find keywords easily?

When I'm going to "Settings" - "Logs" and pick a particular log (that is very long) how do I export it to be able to find key words like "fail", "failure", and such?  There appears to be no way to export the logs.

I guess the first question should be what key words should we look for in logs such as: Patch Download Log - when things are not working properly?

You can download the log files from the Settings->Support tab. There is an option "Retrieve appliance activity logs" under "Troubleshooting Tools" section

Hope this helps.

  • Thank you AbhayR. I was able to Retrieve the logs - unzip the tgz and then the .tar. and correct me if I'm wrong. All the logs that you see in Kace by Settings -> Logs and using the dropdown arrow -> Access, Server errors, Stats... etc. can be found in the Kbox_Logs folder that was exported under the following path: ...\kbox_logs\kbox\kboxwww\logs

    • Yes that is correct. - AbhayR 8 years ago
  • Ok, thanks. I'll mark this as the best answer. Now I will have to work on a larger issue of why Windows updates are not working with Kace :) - davreh99 8 years ago
