Kace Agent 10.1.43
I currently have the Kace agent 10.1.43 installed on the computers in my organization. We are currently using Kace Systems Management Appliance version 8.0.320 (we are in the process of upgrading to the latest version).
We tried to send out a Kace alert but it seems that the computers with the Kace agent 10.1.43 did not receive the alert.
Is there an issue using the latest version of the agent with the older version of the SMA?

The appliance is only working without any problems with the agent of the same version (and a few subversions back)
All other agents may or may not work and are never tested.
The appliance and agent are developed permanently so the huge step between appliance 8.0 and 10.1 agent is ~3 years of development where newer technology is built in etc.
Some (especially the basic functionality) would work but the more advanced ones will not work. This is why you also cannot upload an agent of another version to deploy it (it still works if you know how to trick the box, but this is nothing trivial)

Thanks, I was able to run a managed update to get everyone back on the 8.0 agent. - mcclainr@tessco.com 4 years ago
Absolutely! As the KACE appliance has evolved with different code and tech over the years, so has the agent. So Whilst you can jump major versions in updating the agent, you should stay roughly within 1 version for the agent.
We will be posting a blog with some GPO code to help customers clean up their non upgrading agents as you all try to get to 10.x so you can continue patching.
