KACE SMA NFR License?
Hello,
We currently have a KACE SDA and SMA at my workplace which we use for managing Windows and Linux devices.
I'm in the process of setting up a KACE SMA appliance within my home lab environment so that I have a fair amount of freedom to experiment with new features, ideas and concepts for managing our systems.
An example of one thing I would like to experiment with is the newly introduced feature in v11 for agent tray icon initiated patching.
I'm currently downloading the K1000 express appliance, although it does seem like it will be lacking a fair amount of the features of the non-express.
Is there a way in which I can obtain a Not for Resale or commercial use license for up to 25 managed systems or something of that nature?
If this not not possible, is the 1 year K1000 express license renewable?

contact your sales rep.
In addition you can use a test instance for a sold appliance (if your company does not use that, you may be able to use it, your sales rep can discuss this with you too)
Regarding the Express: you simply can request a new license after the year with the same process (and then just use it with your current setup)

We're currently using all 3 out of our 3 licenses for a dev/test/prod appliance but the dev and test are not currently being leveraged in a way that would line up with what I'm hoping to accomplish.
There would be a fair amount of red tape involved in what I'm hoping to accomplish if using the resources at work. I can give it a try although I'm uncertain that it would go anywhere.
I tried using kace 1000 express but the inability to use the scripting, patching, distribution or have non windows agent devices was a deal breaker. - Kiyolaka 3 years ago
