Kace1000 - Make Asset Field Unique?
Hi,
we'd like to add hardware manually to the kace inventory using a unique ID that is created manually.
I've created an asset type "id", added some ids, assigned them to the hardware.
It would be nice to be able to assign this ID just once because it is unique.
I don't find an option to allow this. Is there a possibility to get this into the kace?

You can create a unique index by editing your database using a ticket rule. CAUTION!!!!! This is not Dell approved since you are changing their tables and if you do it wrong it can cause your system to crash or data loss. Do it at your own risk.
Here's a quick tutorial on indexes if you are interested...

Well, thanks for your help. I think this is a bit too doubtful. Don't want to risk the stability of the system. - it@aps 10 years ago
