Managed Installs using Kace & Batch Files
Hi Folks, I'm trying to deploy an application using MI in KACE. I've gone through and tested the install on a machine using the batch file and it works OK. I then forced an inventory so the software is cataloged in KACE, then associated the files needed for the install by Zipping 3 files up (.bat, .msi, .mst) them up. I then deploy to a machine and it looks like it launches the msi and then rapidly goes away and prompts me is installed, but nothing is actually installed?
here is my config for MI

just zip msi and mst and watch out you dont have a folder after you extract it
then use default installation with all your parameters in command line field, basically copy your cmd from .bat in it.
what's in your bat file? doing some other stuff, too?

here is whats in my bat - msiexec.exe /I "M:\SnagIt\v2018\snagit.msi" TRANSFORMS="M:\SnagIt\v2018\snagit.mst" /passive
I'll try zipping just the 2 files now - CMLou 7 years ago-
just zip your MST and MSI and put this in command line box: TRANSFORMS="snagit.mst" /qn /i
keep default installation checked!
you may need to put full local path to MST. just deploy it once and copy the full path to MST from target machine (C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\Downloads\<MI-ID>\snagit.mst) - n1md4 7 years ago
