NetBoot image on newer macs

Hello,

I'm having a problem creating a NetBoot image for the K2000. I have created one successfully on this box from an older mac (MBP 15 in Core2 Duo) and the NetBoot image starts fine on the machine it was created on. New laptops (MBP 13in Early 2011 i5 and i7) are however, unable to boot to this NetBoot image.

Fine, I understand that they might not be compatible in that manner. So I want ahead and made the NetBoot images from the newer computers. For both of these I created the netboot images with the gray discs that came with the machines. The netboot images were created successfully and uploaded to the KBOX.

I went ahead and changed the NetBoot server to use one of the new images, and tried to boot up the newer machines to this image. I reboot and enter the NetBoot workflow by holding down N and get the globe as expected then it flashes a stop sign and boots to the hard drive. Booting into verbose mode I'm shown:

efiboot loaded form device Acpi (PNP0A03,0)/Pci(010) /Mac(C82A144C5540)

boot file path:
Loading 'x86_54\mach.macosx' ...
Error loading kernel 'x86_64\mach.macsox' (0x17)

This happens on both of the new machines. The older machine can boot to these new images, which leads me to even more confusion.

I tried this with both of the new NetBoot images to no avail. I also tried to make a 10.7 NetBoot image from a 10.7 cd, but I didn't actually expect that to work. I also tried making a 10.5 NetBoot image, but apparently it needs to be created from a machine actually running 10.5.

These are all running 10.6

Words of wisdom? Did I do something horribly wrong?

Thanks,
Edwin
