FCJkbI.pngHas anybody tried Virtualising the Photoshop CS2 in appv 5.1 ?

I tried to virtualize, all the shortcuts launches fine but the ExtendScript, throws the below error. Not sure why.. As anyone come across this, or is there any other way of doing this.

Presuming I can read English and error codes. It looks like it cant find the estoolkit... so it begs the question, can you find the estoolkit in the VFS?

If so, have you procmon'd it? I might be looking somewhere outside of the VFS (happens sometimes).

I figured out this, there was a file missing under C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Launch\estoolkit . I added to the package. Now it works

in app-v 5.1 this error is caused by the system guard not handling the call to the Virtual environment correctly and directing it to the local filesystem, fortunately the fix for this is to change the sequencing mode from VFS to PVAD sequencing and set the PVAD to the install folder

pvad can be enabled by first setting this key before sequencing

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AppV\Sequencer\Compatibility

EnablePVADControl DWORD=1

  • Tried PVAD, that did not work either - shamu 8 years ago
    • can you post an export of the registry key inside your package?

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Adobe \ ExtendScript Toolkit

if you also can check this folder and let me know what versions are in there

      C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Launches\toolkit - sparky86 8 years ago

Try Procmon and see which location it is looking for the file. App-V should automatically redirect to the virtual location. If it still fails try using symbolic link or correctfilepathshims to point to the local path.
