Post Installation Splash Screen
In Windows 7 post installation tasks are run after logging in, but before the desktop appears. If you create all your post installations to be silent, then the screen is just blank. Sometimes, your colleagues may not know that something is happening and shut the machine off thinking it was locked. Such was the case with a Dell|Kace kustomer, so I created a splash screen for them that would be active throughout the entire post installation, until the desktop finally loads. I liked this idea so much I've added it as a feature request, and for now have made this my first post installation on all my images/scripted installs. What is even nicer is that you can see this from far away and know that post installation tasks are running.
Download the updating executible.
Once you get the script, you make a new application post installation task, called "updating..." Upload the .exe you downloaded from above
In the commandline field, type "updating.exe" without the quotes.
Now make this your first post installation task in your image or scripted install.
Please rate this post if you used and like this script.
