PXE boot not loading
Hi, we are having issues with PXE boot. The machine has the correct bios settings with secure boot disabled. When the onboard NIC is selected during boot, it does the ..Start PXE boot screen then immediately flashes back to the screen to retry (F1).
Any advice is appreciated.

Are you booting from the SDA or RSA?
For us after updating to 8.2.156 PXE booting from RSA boxes stopped working. Would just F1 to retry or loop around.
Booting direct from the SDA works fine.
Currently working with Quest support on this.

Same here - 8.2 update broke all 26 of my RSAs. Support said to try running the apply_templates command on RSA as netdiag and that fixed us up but if support is correct it must be run on RSA after every sync, which I do nightly :( Had to turn off syncs for now - hopefully they will fix this up soon! My case is still open and I am trying to get more information/understanding. - Mashby1 3 years ago

I have a ticket open with support as well.
What we found was that when the SDA syncs for the second time with the RSA boxes it removes the following file from the RSA box.
http://IPorFQDNofRSA/boot/ipxe/backgrounds/kace_ipxe_bkgrd.png
The PXE boot tries to load this file and as it is missing from the RSA it fails.
We have confirmed via testing with support. They manually added the file into the correct path on the RSA.
Tested PXE booting and it worked fine.
Ran a sync and it was removed.
PXE booting failing again.
The ipxe background was added in the 8.2 update.
So hoping they will have a fix soon. - quibbled 3 years ago -
The issues is now logged as bug K2-7646.
Will be fixed in 9.0 release when that happens. - quibbled 3 years ago

Just ran into the same issue. We have one SDA and that is it. Updated to 8.2 and now cannot boot into KBE. PXE sees the server, machine has a correct IP, but just returns to HP system menu. May have to revert as we now cannot image anything. - jpnps 3 years ago
Is this a new model PC or Laptop? I've had issues in the past with brand new hardware where I had to "inject" the NIC driver into the KBE because the KBE couldn't use the new NIC. This was usually an issue on any brand new laptop models from Dell.
If you don't want to rebuild the KBE, then using a dock and it's RJ45 port should work (and are required with the latest 13" Latitudes that we ordered because Dell removed the RJ45 port from the small laptop models).
Another issue I've found with the newest Dell laptops, is that they have the NvME hard drives set to a RAID configuration and that has be changed in order to Image them with KACE.
