Removing old devices from Smart Label
Hi All,
I'm one of those brand-spanking new k1000 admins so forgive me if this question has already been answered:
How should I go about deleting old devices in a smart label created by BIOS Serial Number?
Right now we have our labs in smart labels targeting a list of BIOS Serial Numbers, however whenever we replace a machine, the old device (BIOS Serial Number already removed from the smart label of course) won't disappear from the list of devices until the Kbox agent checks back in and says "Oh, I'm no longer a part of this smart label, let me remove myself". Lately we've put these old devices into storage and I'd like to know if there's a way for me to manually remove the old devices from generating themselves in their old smart label without connecting them specifically just to have them check back in.

Device Smart Labels are updated when the machine checks in.
This is the normal way how it works.
If you want to remove it from a smart label only but preserve it in the inventory, you can use a Custom Ticket Rule (yes, TICKET!) to update the smart label and remove the machine from it.
If you want to remove the device from the inventory (and the smart label) you can use the MIA settings (Inventory| Devices| Choose Action | Configure MIA Settings) to automaticly remove devices which are not checking in anymore.

You can also remove the computers from the inventory manually. The inventory item is linked to a computer asset, so some of the information on the computer will be retained when deleted from the inventory. - chucksteel 6 years ago

If you HAVE to keep the devices in Inventory, you could add a criteria to the Smart Label to exclude those devices.
I'd apply a manual label to them, then make the Smart Label say something like:
Label Name != Exclusion label - ondrar 6 years ago
