Scripted installation Windows XP

Hi

When I'm deploying a windows xp scripted installation with Dell Kace, he never installs the drivers for Windows XP on the local machine.

The drivers are added by the driverfeed. And when i'm doing exactly the same for a Windows 7 machine the drivers are all correctly installed.

What version of the K2000 are you on, 3.4 or 3.3?

Are you using Corey's driver feed workaround tasks? If so, are you using both the midlevel task (driver_feed_mid_task.bat) as well as the postinstall task (install_drivers.exe)?

I had similar issues for some WinXP drivers not making it to the machine during the scripted install.  I worked around this by creating postinstallation tasks for these.  I've found that typically if you download/extract drivers from the manufacturer, there will be a readme (or similar) text file that will include instructions on silent install switches.  For Dell drivers, these pretty much always use "setup.exe -s", with the exception of the NIC and the video (if not using integrated video), but again these are similarly documented.

I realize that taking this approach is generally frowned upon as the deployment at that point becomes hardware dependent (due to the non-generalized postinstallation task), but it has worked well for me.  In my job, if I can find an alternate solution that does the same thing and I don't need to spend an inordinate amount of time setting it up and maintaining it, it's good enough for me.

apparently there was something wrong in the answer file of the unattended installation. We've made a new one and all drivers were installed correctly.

Nevertheless thank you guys for the answers.

What Drivers are not installed on the Windows XP? Do you need to install it after scripted installation?
