Scripting - not running? K1000 noob here...
I'm new to the K1000. Here is what I'm trying to do:
1. We have Smart Notebook installed on our machines. There is a registry entry that tell is to run (2) exe files upon startup, but for some reason all PC's in our district stopped doing it randomly.
2. The fix that is working for us is to put shortcuts to those (2) exe files in the all users windows 7 startup folder.
3. I have (2) shortcut files that I've created, and a batch file that tells it to copy them to the startup folder.
I zipped the (2) shortcuts and batch file, and uploaded it into the K1000 as a software. Told it to run "1.STARTUP COPY.BAT", and I can push it out to machines just fine.
However, I've come to understand that I'm not entirely doing it right - I should be using scripting and telling it to run the software on machines. So, I did that - and told it to run....but it's not doing anything.
Script type: ONLINE
Status: production
ALL OS enabled
run as: (admin credentials for domain login)
Dont run on schedule
Allow to run while logged off
Verify - I have it check the startup folder for both LNK shortcut files.
Remediation - Install the Software that I had working before.
...Yet, it doesn't work. I have a machine next to me that I can push it out to upon next check-in....I force it to do an inventory check and it'll work when I do it through the software section - but I have about 100 machines I need to do this to - so I figured the scripting is the best way to go about it, so that it's not constantly running.
I've forced the RUN NOW, and it just sits there showing 0/1.
Any ideas?
