Security Patching via K1000

Hello,

Thanks to the help of the memebers of this forum, I managed to roll out Kace to my clients and everything has been going great so far!

I'm just a bit confused with Patching via Kace however, I wanted to patch a ton of security updates to a couple of machines but when I try and "detect" the patches, it doesn't seem to detect that any are missing. I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong here.

I checked Patch Listing and I found the KB updates on there, so I'm just trying to figure out where to go on from here?

Do I need to create a Smart Label within Patch Listing?

  • Thanks for the help, It seems that I didn't have the patch label configured correctly. - Mobzy 11 years ago

Answer Summary:
Had to create a patch label and add the updates that I wanted to roll out and I had to select that label under the Deploy Patch Label selection. I also discovered the Guided Tour tab (under home) so thankfully, I won't have to ask questions like these again!

Are you detecting the correct patch label?

You need to create a Patch label and target the levels of importance, like Critical or Recommended.  Then assign your machine labels to that patch label.
