Server/Release Notes ????

Has anyone questioned KACE why the Server/Release notes between minor versions contain the same data as the prior versions? This is so frustrating!!!!!!

All I want is the difference between 5.3.47927 and the previous version (5.3.45497) and other 5.3 versions. Seriously, go read the Release Notes for 5.3xxx they all look and (for the most part) read the same.

Does anyone know what they changed between these two versions? This would help so we'd know what to test. If I'm missing something - please let me know where to find the missing puzzle piece's. [;)]

If you're talking about the latest 5.3 release, all it does is add international language support - nothing else.

A patch including several bug fixes is due out at the end of the month for 5.3.

I've never had a problem reading the KACE release notes - the newest info is always at the top. Release notes typically include changes between multiple versions, so you may be getting confused by the older data in the release notes. However, I do agree they could add a bit more verbosity. I would like to know each and every thing that changed - big or small.

...to add to my post...

Why are the Client Bundle 'Release Notes' the same as the Server 'Release Note's??? I'm sorry, but this still doesn't make any sense to me. All I want is "What changed since the last release?" Not since last major release.

I was told at the Konference that there were some bug fixes in the latest revision so I updated from server 5.3.45497 (5.3 SP1) to 5.3.47927 (5.3L10N or 5.3 International). I don't need the other languages but have found the Asset History now includes software titles that were removed as well as new ones found. Previously only new titles were shown so that got fixed. I don't see that in the Release Notes. It would be nice to know what else got fixed. I was also told this version would need to be installed before the next revision at the end of the month (not 5.4).

I agree with both of you that there could be more detail specific to the changes of the minor revision. The sections on "New Features and Enhancements, "System Requirements," and "Installation Instructions" haven't changed since 5.3 was initially released and are included for clarity.

Right, the format of the release notes is not an issue. The problem we're all having is the lack of detail and "ghost" updates/fixes that are happening due to mediocre release notes.

If you contact support we can generate this for you. I did put in a request for eng to post it publically and provide that delta list on each release.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
