software assets and license tracking
Hi folks.
I am just getting my feet wet with this aspect of the K1000. I have read through and performed many of the steps to create an asset and 'meter' it. Now what I was led to believe it that I would be able to track licensing for Office or OS's, etc. It is just me not knowing the 'how to'.
Would anyone have a few tips on this subject?
Thanks in advance.

Metering is used to tell you who actually uses software - it isn't really going to help with license reporting. You'll use assets and reports for that. The purpose of metering is to tell you who has X software installed but has not used it in N number of days so you can uninstall it to free up a license.
