Sophos Antivirus interferes with KACE?

While I was at Konference 2012 one of the instructors mentioned off hand that Sophos was one of the worst antivirus programs for use with KACE. He didn't elaborate past that and I didn't get a chance to get a question in.

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues related to this or their current antivirus program when it comes to the K1000?

Thanks

I use Sophos, and haven't experienced any problems that I know of? I've been using it with Kace for 2+ years.

  • Yes we've had Sophos and KACE for roughly the same amount of time and haven't had any specific problems. Perhaps some of the strange or random weird things that happen are because of Sophos and we just never put that together? - AFCUjstrick 11 years ago
    • I remember using AVG in the past I had to allow an exception for C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\KACE, but nothing with Sophos. I'd be curious to find out why. - dugullett 11 years ago
    • I am running SOPHOS and brought my K1000 online last Summer. I have not had a single conflict. - rockhead44 11 years ago

Sophos is like the other antivirus programs: Sometimes it interferes, sometimes not.

I always suggest to whitelist the nessesary files (found only one fw/antivirus solution which cannot do it easily: Comodo, so if someone has a hint ;) )

The current whitelist:
