Tracking vCenter License
Trying to find an easy and effective way to track VMWare vCenter license in Kace. Cant tracking it the same way I do AV and other software as I am unable to definitively identify what machines are using the license or not. This might be a limitation of my understanding and not the Kace Software. But I was hoping someone might have ran into same issue or have some tips to track this correctly in Kace.

You can only track software on systems where you have an agent installed.
Since the VMWARE systems are agentless managed it is not easy.
You can use Assets for the license keys etc and add them to the device assets, but not natively reading it out.

Anyway to track labels the same way we can track software license? A bit more manual but a way none the less. - TBisel 6 years ago

yes, the labels are SQL statements inside the appliance. They don't need to do anything on the client, they just collect info from the device inventory, so if all you need in it you can create a label and a report to get an overview.
Please keep in mind that the label is updated when a device is checking in (into or out of the label) - Nico_K 6 years ago
