Uninstall 32 bit office 2007 and install Office 2010 64 bit with Kace.

Hello All,

I created the msp as per instructions posted here and one of default settings in oct is uninstall previos versions. Now, when my distribution runs, I see that it says it is installing office 2010 on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine. It takes some time and at the end gave me the message that office 2007 32 bit must be uninstalled before it can install office 2010 64 bit . On clicking OK, the distribution stops and I click continue to finish off.

My run parameters: "setup.exe"  /adminfile "Updates\custom.msp"

Does this distribution uninstall office 2007 32 bit and then try to install 64 bit office 2010?

Amd I missing some command line parameters?

Please advise.

If you take the package you built and run it from the command line outside of the KBOX, does it uninstall 2007 and then install 2010 properly?

Here is a link that might help:

  • jknox,

Thanks for the reply. I did try to run the installer outside kace environment and it does ask you to first uninstall office 2007.
So I think I don't have a choice. I have created another windows office 2010 32 bit installation which works fine that it uninstalls 2007 and reinstalls office 2010 32 bit. Only thing is I noticed that the user lost all customizations to their ribbon. - dracs 12 years ago
