Virtualization platform of choice?
Hello Ninjas,
I am looking for some kind of virtualization product that will work with our K1000 and K2000 that I can use to test deployments and and unattended installations without taking up physical computers as I am now. I am inexperienced in most forms of virtualization having only used the free vmware player thus far, and I'm getting no success trying to PXE boot to it. I'm looking for a more robust solution and I figured I would ask here what the preferred utility is for anyone using KACE. I have been looking at vmware Workstation 10 but I am open to any suggestions. Thank you all so much for your input.

Personally, I use Oracle VirtualBox. It's quite a robust solution, allows PXE boot, supports a number of Virtual Hard Drive formats, and best of all it's FREE.

Excellent, after I posted this question my co-worker said I should give it a try. I'm installing it now and with any luck I should have a few testers going by tonight. Thanks for the input. - Eray 10 years ago

I'll second that.
I've used VMWare Workstation in the past and find that VB saves and opens snapshots an order of magnitude faster than VMW. - anonymous_9363 10 years ago -
