What are the setting that need to be in place for the NIC on a VM?
I know I am supposed to enable PXE but how is this done in VMWare 6? I do not want it to PXE boot but just support the nodes to PXE boot to it.

For me, PXE boot from VMs has always been touchy. I did have success on VirtualBox by using "Bridged Connection" for the guest network adapter (as opposed to NAT or the other options). A lot of this depends on how your network is configured. You might want to check with a network engineer at your organization.
