What's the development and support future looking like for the KACE appliance?
As some of you may know, Dell's software division was de-aqqusitioned and purchased by a holding firm. https://software.dell.com/acquisitions/dsg.aspx
What should we expect in regards to the platform as it has changed owners?
Is the product still actively receiving development?
I was at Dell World and very disappointed that there was no vendor booth for KACE and that their breakout session was cancelled.

I am in the midst of Beta testing both K1v7 and K2v4. It has been business as usual with Kace. Support had been superior and the beta tests are progressing real nicely from my standpoint. We have discussed some of the upcoming features for the next couple of releases of the products, I do not see any change in their business processes.
I see it as a chance for other Manufacturers to get on board with partnering closer with Kace to help better integrate the management of their lower level functions like bios and such.

I guess the information is confidential, but is there any teaser information available about upcoming changes/release cycles? I'd be interested to at least see a road map of planned features and some of the v7 beta changes. Maybe plant a bug in the KACE dev teams ear to publish some newer news? - rrjustin 8 years ago

:-( Sorry can't give any info, wish I could! Lots of nice enhancements to both the K1 and K2. I am especially happy to what they added to the K2. - SMal.tmcc 8 years ago

NDAs are debbie downers, but I'm glad to know that you're excited about it! I'm super anxious, especially since we haven't heard anything in what feels like over a year since v6.3 - rrjustin 8 years ago

I was just a customer speaker at a Kace event hosted by Mosaic Technologies here in NW Washington and had the chance to speak with a Kace rep. He reflected what others in this thread have answered and cleared our worries about the future of Kace.
To say the least, I left with zero worries. I think the K1 & K2 are both excellent tools and would hate to see them go.

I was at Dell World too and they did have a booth setup in the client services section of the floor. It was just a single station but I got some information. The rep said that they are working on a roadmap that will take them well into FY 18. The support staff has not changed and will still continue to be supported the way it has been. They are working on a release of 7.0 Beta in November. What I would do is contact your Dell Rep and he/she can get you in touch with the KACE side of the equation and they can answer your questions and give your further information on the roadmap and supportability.

KACE is experiencing solid growth and the team is highly focused on our upcoming K1 and K2 releases! Our 2017 feature planning and execution is in full swing, so please submit or vote on feature requests at KACE User Voice as soon as possible. Additionally, KACE and Dell will continue to remain strong partners. Our participation in Dell World was focused on the Client Solutions area where we most align as an Endpoint Systems Management solution.
