"Windows can not find 'C:\kcleanup.exe'. MAke sure you typed the name correctly" error in image deployment's last step Kace 8.1

Hi, hope all is well.

We updated our Kace to the latest version (8.1) recently and now when I try to deploy one of our images to a workstation, I get this error at the end of installation:

LPPCjQxNyFzRxWv0KbAMi8P8BCN4wJwA4l9AAAAAASUVORK5CYII=

Every step seem fine but apparently, Kace can't make it through its last step :

3pPJ1hT2Px4AAAAASUVORK5CYII=

If I go to the station and ignore the error, I will see "Kace" folder in c:\ with some folders in it,

Plus these 2 files are in the root of c drive - if I click on kcleanup.exe, nothing would happen.

If I perform sfc/scannow in powershell and do a reboot, the "kace" folder will be deleted automatically, and "features" and "cleanup.exe" will still be there.

Our image is around 2 years old, so I'm guessing there is some conflict between kace and our image PE maybe? I tried the same image with a new KBE with the same issue.

Everything was working fine before the update to the newer version. (It's legacy boot through PXE)

Is there any way to fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much.

I added a "post-installation" task as a bat file to do the system file scan and it fixed the problem.

sfc /scannow

checked "Reboot Required"
