Windows10 update through Dell Kbox

Hi All,

I have implemented dell kbox for patching windows7 PCs in our company. I have completely disabled windows update through GPO and the PCs do not check for windows update at all. Now my question is that how do i allow the windows 10 upgrade to the users present in my organisation. I understand that KB3035583 is the patch required to be present in Win7 but under patch catalog it does not show up. Could someone help me on this.

  • What version of Windows is installed in your environment? The Windows 10 notification will not be deployed to enterprise versions so it might not be included in the patch feed from KACE. - chucksteel 9 years ago
    • Hi Chuck,

We use Windows 7 enterprise version in our environment(as per my understanding we use a single key for all the Win7 OS deployed on our machines and hence we called it enterprise). But we have few systems which is windows update enabled and they got the windows10 upgrade notification. - syedirfan725 9 years ago
      • You have a very permissive user environment if you're allowing people to upgrade their own computers from 7 to 10. But Chucksteel is right, Enterprise versions shouldn't be getting the notification. If the majority of your computers run Enterprise, you should rely on a different method to transition to Windows 10. - nheyne 9 years ago
      • Also, regardless of what version you have, if your computers are joined to a domain they should not be getting the notification. - nheyne 9 years ago
  • Hi guys. What about the recent news about Windows 10 pushing as a 'recommended' update in a couple months. How will kbox handle this? My organization uses Win7Pro64bit only
