Wsname Newb Question -

I am completely new to this tool called wsname.exe

I have no idea how to use wsname.

I'd like to use;

wsname.exe /RDF:namedb.dat /DFK:$MAC

for renaming computers - can anyone help me work this program?

Nice - where would I put the command line switch at? Do I make a notepad file and save it?

Ok -

I've created a new naming rule.

I've uploaded the wsname.exe program

Then I put wsname.exe /RDF:namedb.dat /DFK:$MAC in the command line box

Saved it and added it to my script file.

Did a scripted install and it asked me for the computer name.

I'm not sure if that's the correct ASSETTAG command or not....any ideas?

*edit: I am trying to auto name the comps their service tag
