Note

For a completely silent installation, use the "setup.exe /admin" function to prepare an installation that delivers the components you want in your final package.

Next, make a copy of the "config.xml" file found inside the "Visio.WW" directory and place it next to setup.exe.  Open this copy in Notepad.  Edit it to look like the following:

 <Configuration Product="Visio">
<Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />
<Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="Never" />
</Configuration>

Save the modified file.

To run a silent installation, issue the command:

 setup.exe /config "<path-to-setup.exe>\config.xml"

To perform a silent uninstall, use the following command:

 setup.exe /uninstall Visio /config "<path-to-setup.exe>\config.xml"

Note that in both command line examples you should not use the actual string <path-to-setup.exe>.  You should replace that with the actual path to the setup.exe file.  For example, if your setup.exe file lives on a network server at the path:  "\\server1\software\installers\setup.exe" then the command should look like this:

 setup.exe /uninstall Visio /config "\\server1\software\installers\config.xml"
