The only issues I found with the script, is that the EULA must be accepted by a local administrator. Otherwise if a non local administrator logs on and runs Roxio, they will be constantly asked to accept the EULA, even if they agree to it.
You can also push out the Registry change that is made by accepting the EULA.
It's found here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Roxio\Certificates7
There was a a key {leters and numbers}, then a DWORD value of EULA=1.
EMC 7.5 was only intended for retail however the company said that if you wanted to create your own mst's etc. you needed to purchase a volume (enterprise) licence. We did this and still can't get the product to install silently.
This was the reply I got from technical support when I complained that I couldn't get a silent install to work consistently:
The silent installation process is supported in EMC v7.1 but I am not sure you would want take an older version. EMC 7.5 was originally designed for retail distribution so was never planned to support silent installs.
If you're having problems with this install and you have purchased the volume licence, this is the reason why.
How To: Disable AutoUpdate and Registration in Roxio Easy Media Creator 7
1. Open the MSI/MST provided to you with your Installer Editor(eg. Orca).
2. Goto the "Components" table and locate "autoupdater.exe" component; expand the component and delete the autoupdater.exe file from within Files tab.
3. Set one of the HKCU registry entry in the component so as to avoid a broken component or red component.
4. Restrain from deleting the whole component as it contains some XML files which are needed by the application at time of launching.
5. This will grey out the "Update" and "Register" options visible on the application and since autoupdater.exe has been deleted, autoupdating issue of application is also taken care of.
