Similar to VMware Player 1.x you can run the executable download with a /? parameter to get package information. It supports an administrative install or passing parameters to the embedded Windows Installer package. The package is not compressed (a number of loose CAB files), so you'll want to consider that depending on your scenario. A common installation would look like:
The *_SHORTCUT properties toggle the various shortcuts that can be installed.
Although none of them are optional from the UI you may be able to experiment with the various components in the package using the ADDLOCAL (for example, if you don't need the NAT driver):
You can do an administrative install of vmplayer player using VMware-player-2.0.1-55017.exe /a and then you will get the vmware player.msi file which you can edit using Orca
Then use this command to do a silent install of vmware player and force a per machine install:
