Bat file to exe or VBS Script to migrate printers on a old print server to a new print server 100% silent using KACE 1000 version 5.4

I am knew to this site and wanted to know if anyone has ever been able to either create a batch file then converted it into a exe so it can be pushed out as a managed install to migrate printers on a old printer server to a new print server 100% silent.  Or if anyone has been able to successfully use a VBS script and pushed it out using their K1000 appliance 100% silent without any prompts to accept installing the new driver once pushed down from the new server after migration.

These scripts are included in Windows 7, not sure about 8.

They will work perfectly as long as you get all of the settings in your script right.

They have to be run as an online script.

cscript %WINDIR%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\en-US\prnport.vbs -a -r ________A______ -h ___B_____ -o raw
cscript %WINDIR%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\en-US\prndrvr.vbs -a -m "_________C_______" -h "______D________" -i "_______E_________"
cscript %WINDIR%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\en-US\prnmngr.vbs -a -p _____F______ -m "____C______" -r _____A______

A= IP_IPAddress or Column A in excel file
B= IP Address or Column B in excel file
C= Driver Name or Column C in excel file
D= INF Path or Column D in excel file
E= Full INF Path or Column E in excel file
F= Name of Printer or Column F in excel file
C= Driver Name or Column C in excel file
A= IP_IPAddress or Coluimn A in excel file

  • Have you been able to create a bat or vbs script that could be packaged up in an exe to have it pushed out as a managed install using the KACE 1000 appliance so that it can migrate printers that are on a old print server to a new printer server 100% silent without prompting for a driver install? - ninja_script 11 years ago
    • Yes, these have the abiltiy to be silent. These scripts are a starting point. - AFCUjstrick 11 years ago
      • I have a vbs script that I converted into a exe that works when you run it manually but it doesn't work when I try to push it out as a managed installed. I am assuming that is because the vbs references a registry key, not sure if that is true or not. The other promblem s when you run the script it prompts you to accept the driver install, I want it to automatically accept the driver and complete the task 100% silent. Appreciate the help, let me know if you have any ideas on this reply? - ninja_script 11 years ago
