Create Distribution from Downloaded Patch

I looked around and didnt find anything that answered my question.

Is it possible to create a software distribution from a patch file that the kace has downloaded.

How would I point the distribution to that installer?

I am specifically thinking about Java, I want to push the latest Java 7 update to all of our machines (100ish) and the standard update process is only detecting that about 7 machines need it because all the other machines likely only have a version of java 6 installed.

Thanks in advance for any help

Personally, I would recommend that instead of doing it this way you setup a managed install of Java. http://www.itninja.com/software/oracle/java-2/7-552 This link contains information about how to setup the deployment.
