Custom Inventory - Populate field for VMs from the VMware Notes field on ESXi/vCenter inventory.

We would like to populate a field on the individual virtual machines using a custom inventory.  But seems difficult because the custom inventory would be pulling from the ESXi/vCenter endpoint and need to write to the endpoint's record.

Hi,
You will need to Agentless inventory your ESXi server, and then see if any piece of useful information is being pulled via SNMP.
