Is there a way to get this as a custom asset field? I'm about to delete some old PC's from inventory but want to retain the service tag automatically. - Ultimation 11 years ago

The service tag should stay in the asset even after the corresponding computer is deleted from the inventory. - chucksteel 11 years ago

Also, the BIOS Serial Number field under Hardware is the same as a Service Tag info that you are looking for.

All right, I see that under active inventory, but I'm looking for a way to move that over to the asset information for after I delete it out of inventory. We're cleaning up our old computers to free up KACE licenses for the new ones, but we want to keep info like the service tag permanently. - Ultimation 11 years ago

You can create a report with the Machine Name, Asset Tag, or any other inventory info and export as CSV. Then do a CSV import to your pre-created asset type with Machine Name as the Primary Key. - easterdaymatt 11 years ago
