Detecting Zoom installations (excluding temp applications)
I have an issue with users who have either downloaded and installed Zoom themselves, or who have used a temporary application to access a Zoom call both showing up in KACE as having a Zoom client older than 5.10 when I search the Software Catalogue.
I cannot force the Zoom client to update via KACE as Zoom wasn't managed by KACE in the first place, but as I've been digging through the list of computers with Zoom detected I'm finding that KACE seems to be listing computers that don't even have Zoom installed. So KACE has evidently detected the temporary application that someone runs once to open a Zoom meeting and decided to list that workstation as having an old version of Zoom.
How can I search KACE for computers with the Zoom client actually installed to the PC and exclude the temp application detections?

If I can identify a workstation that actually has Zoom installed I will check to see if that may be causing the version to be improperly detected, but unfortunately the vast majority of detections appear to be false positives for workstations that don't actually have Zoom installed.
To re-create the issue you can accept a zoom meeting, run the temporary application, and close out of the meeting. Wait for KACE to inventory the workstation, then search for "Zoom" and KACE will detect Zoom being on your PC at whatever version level the temporary application was.
I have a list of hundreds of workstations with older (vulnerable) zoom installs, but when I remote into the workstations to verify I discover they don't have Zoom installed. - 404pagenotfound 2 years ago
