downloads not deleted after reset
I downloaded an attachment from Gmail and then reset KACE. The downloaded file is no longer visible in the CTRL J download window but it is still present in the actual folder, "C:\Users\martin\Downloads". I thought KACE would have deleted it? I am running Win 7 Starter on an HP Mini netbook. When I reset the KACE browser it shuts down and there is a lot of disk activity but it does not restart. I restart it manually - is -that correct? UAC is OFF and I haveWindows firewall and ESET NOD32 antivirus.
Thanks!
Thanks!

godphrey,
The default location for saving items you have downloaded is the Downloads folder. This folder is outside of the Kontained Secure Browser. We discussed this many times, and felt that a user most of the time would want to keep the files they downloaded. This is why we made the default location outside of Secure Browser.
Now, if you were to go to Tools > Options, and under the Downloads section change this from say Downloads, to Desktop, you would now be saving items into the Kontained Secure Browser. These files would be deleted when you go to reset Secure Browser. To find them, you would have to browse into the Secure Browser directory.
C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\Secure Browser (Firefox 3)\Firefox\Files\C\Users\<user>\Desktop
If you wouldn't mind getting the log files for this and attaching them here. We can take a look at why Secure Browser is not relaunching once reset.
To enable logging:
(Make sure to have Secure Browser closed when performing the steps below)
1. You will need to open a Command Prompt with the Run as administrator option
2. At the command prompt, navigate to C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\K1000
3. TypeKontainer log -- This will save all the log files into the C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\Secure Browser (Firefox 3)\Firefox\PodInfo directory. They will have the naming convention of Kontainers****.log.
4. Launch Secure Browser
5. Reset Secure Browser
6. If Secure Browser did not relaunch itself, launch Secure Browser
7. At the command prompt, typeKontainer nolog to disable the logging
If you could .zip up the log files and attach them here to AppDeploy, we can take a look at why it is not relaunching after the reset.
The option to attach files was added today to AppDeploy, but you will need to create a new post in order to attach your zipped log files. The size limit is 5mb.
